The Organisation

As one of the largest providers of community transport in Australia, if not the largest, Community Transport Services Tasmania (CTST) is a vibrant and growing not-for-profit charitable community organisation whose vision is that everyone has access to community transport. We specialise in providing reliable, high quality and safe transport to older people and people with a condition preventing them from undertaking daily activities.

CTST’s impact is delivered via a workforce of over 350 passionate people, with the majority being volunteers, 90 vehicles, modern and sophisticated systems, great attitudes and, most importantly, we are consumer directed.

CTST has undergone significant growth in recent years and anticipates a bright future, developing existing and more innovative transport solutions for the Tasmanian Community.


The Vacancy

As a result of our own recent Board survey and skills assessment, we have identified an opportunity to increase Board skills particularly in the areas of human resources, strategic / risk, IT, finance and legal.


The Role

Applicants will be experienced in their respective professions or fields and possess solid business acumen.  Applications from people with expertise in human resources, strategic / risk, IT, finance, marketing, and legal will be considered favourably. Applicants passionate about service delivery and equality would be good fits for the roles.  Successful applicants will add to the balance of skills and experience of existing Board members.

At present, all Board Directors serve on a voluntary basis, with travel and other expenses paid as appropriate. The implementation of sitting fees is currently being considered.  The Board meets six times per year (in person) along with a half-day annual Board planning session.  Board members may also be members of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, or other Sub Committees, each of which meets six times throughout the year.  Board Director terms are for two years.
