Shane Budden, Special Counsel, Ethics, Queensland Law Society

About the Presenter:

Mr Shane Budden is a Special Counsel at the Queensland Law Society's Ethics Centre, providing ethical guidance and instruction to practitioners as well as a contributing significantly to Proctor, the journal of the Queensland Law Society. Admitted in 1992 Shane commenced work in general practice, focusing on criminal law, before moving to in-house work including running the internal legal team at the Queensland Building Services Authority / Queensland Building and Construction Commission internal legal team. Shane is also former Chair of the Society’s government lawyers committee. He has published articles in many newspapers and magazines and appears on television and radio delivering commentary in relation to contemporary legal issues.

Danielle Snell, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Elit Lawyers

Ms Danielle Snell is an award-winning litigator who established her own dynamic litigation firm after 15 years of top-tier practice. She specialises in commercial litigation, insurance litigation and media law; with a special interest in women’s rights. Danielle has a passion for promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal sector and for challenging the traditional law firm model in order to provide a more authentic and transparent legal service to clients. She endeavours to create and grow a progressive workplace of the future. Danielle sits on LIV’s Litigation Lawyers Executive Committee, Court Practice Committee and Diversity Committee (Sexual Harassment Working Group). For her commitments to innovation, high stakes litigation and issues of diversity and inclusion, Danielle is recognised by leading and prestigious industry publications. Her awards and accolades include: Managing Partner of the Year – Lawyers Weekly 2023; Law Firm Leader of the Year (<100 employees) – Australasian Lawyer Law Awards 2023; and Most Influential Lawyer 2021 – Australasian Lawyer in the category of ‘changemaker’.
