The Law Society is seeking expressions of interest from practitioners interested in appointment to the Board of Legal Education (BLE). There are two positions available.
Expressions of interest close on Friday 30 September 2022 and can be emailed to the Executive Director: luke.rheinberger@lst.org.au
Expressions of interest should include a resume/CV and detail relevant experience and interest in pre-admission legal education.
The BLE is a body corporate made up of six Board members, two of whom are nominated by the Society. Society nominees must be the holder of a Tasmanian practising certificate.
The Board determines the subjects which candidates for admission to the legal profession must pass and approves courses of practical instruction on the duties of an Australian legal practitioner. In addition, the Board assesses the qualifications of Australian and overseas applicants against the requirements of the Legal Profession (Board of Legal Education) Rules.
The Board meets six to eight times a year. Remote attendance is available for intrastate members.
