About the Presenter:

Justice McElwaine graduated from the University of NSW in 1983 and was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW in 1984. He commenced his career as a Legal Officer at the Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. Justice McElwaine joined private practice in Launceston in 1988 and commenced his own firm in 1996. He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2013. Justice McElwaine commenced his appointment as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia in January 2022.
