Description
In this session, which was delivered as part of the Litigation Convention 2015, Mr Ken Read discusses the strategic issues involved in settlement. Mr Read SC advises that strategy, not process, is essential to any advantageous settlement. Strategy, he proposes, involves the consideration of how; why; when; what and who. This session also uses a practical example to illustrate strategy, and strategic decisions such as who should speak first; what issues would you address; who should make the first offer; what will the sum be; and why those conclusions are reached.
