This very popular session was delivered as part of the Criminal Law Conference 2021 by Matthew Lowe, District Officer, State Operations, Tasmania Fire Service. Matthew shares his experiences and challenges as a fire investigator and lead an in-depth discussion on the fire investigation process employed in Tasmania. Viewers will gain a greater understanding of the fire scene process and collaborative approach employed across the TFS, TasPol, FSST and DoJ; and an understanding of fire and modern-day firefighting techniques that assist preserving fire scenes for the investigation process.

About the Presenter:
Mr Matthew Lowe has been a firefighter for 21 years. He has worked in all areas across the TFS. Matthew is a specialist Fire Investigation Officer and lead trainer for TFS, TasPol Forensics, CIB Detectives and Department of Justice Electrical Inspectors.
