Description
This session is another in the very popular series by Mr Grant Blake, Clinical Psychologist, Grant Blake Psychology (Qld). In this session Grant states that PTSD is at the core of many family, child safety, criminal and compensation claims. Grant will focus on assisting legal practitioners to better understand the therapies their clients are receiving thus deepening their scope for cross-examination and advocacy for evidence-based orders; describe the key treatment techniques used to resolve PTSD symptoms; consider therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy; and examine case examples to outline barriers to best practice treatment and how those barriers may be overcome.
